It doesn’t happen very often that my teenage son actually COOKS for me … he decided he was going to make some scrambled eggs for himself the other morning (HIS way) … and he asked me if I’d like some too. I was kinda hungry so I said sure, make me some eggs. So he made me some eggs … and his eggs were really good! So I just had to tell you about it … he has been watching cooking shows and noting how the chefs make their eggs. He says they all seem to use tons of butter, so he decided to try it, except he just used a little bit of butter. He showed me how much he used and it was just a smidgen. I was surprised at how much I could really taste the butter.
After we ate our eggs, he said I needed to watch this Gordon Ramsey video and so he searched for it on my computer and we sat together and watched it. It was a lovely morning in mom-land.
PrintMy Son’s Butter Scrambled Eggs
Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon of butter
- 2 – 3 eggs
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Beat the eggs well in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and pepper. (I like to add some Red Robin Seasoning and about a Tablespoon of water per egg, but my son likes to make his eggs with just salt & pepper).
- Heat an omelet pan (or frying pan) over medium to medium high heat. When the pan is hot, put the pat of butter on the pan and move it around so the whole pan gets a light coating of butter.
- Pour in the eggs and let them cook for a minute or two, until they start to set up.
- Use a spatula to push the outside edges in, letting the uncooked egg spill over the sides into the pan. Stir the eggs about in the pan, sort of flipping them over a bit to get them all cooked.
- Slide the butter scrambled eggs onto your plate and enjoy.
