A creamy ice cream loaded with sweet cherries and laced with the nutty flavor of Amaretto, this simple blended ice cream is the perfect dreamy dessert for a hot summer day. While the recipe is formulated for the Ninja Creami Deluxe, you can double the recipe to make enough mix to fill a standard ice cream maker.
Inspired by a flavor I saw at the grocery store that has been enticing me to buy it, I happened to have a bunch of cherries on hand that needed using. And my dad was here for his lengthy chemo treatment. Nothing was tasting good to him except ice cream.
So I pitted and blended up my cherries, added some cream and sugar and a touch of amaretto and vanilla. Oh man, the mix tasted GOOooood! So then the next day I put it in the Creami to blend up. I couldn’t wait to taste my creation. It was even more dreamy than I imagined.
Honestly this flavor was more for me than it was for Dad. He was wanting French Vanilla ice cream. Because eggs were tasting good. But he certainly didn’t turn it down when I brought him a contain of Cherry Amaretto Ice Cream. The most amazing thing is he could actually taste the cherries!
I had to make it again just for me after Mom and Dad went home. I hope you love it as much as we did. Oh, by the way, it’s even more amazing with hot fudge sauce drizzled on top.
