For Apple “filling”:
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- A pinch of allspice
- A pinch of cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 drops of liquid stevia (or 1 packet of Stevia or 1 – 2 teaspoons brown sugar)
For the crumble topping:
- 1 Tablespoon of butter (melted)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 Tablespoon whole wheat flour
- 4 Tablespoons oats (quick oats or old fashioned: either one)
- 1 teaspoon Nectresse or Stevia (or 1 Tablespoon brown sugar)
For the top:
- 1 teaspoon butter (chopped into small squares)
Instructions
- In a large ramekin, small oven-proof bowl, or small loaf pan coated with cooking spray, combine the filling ingredients and smooth it out as best you can.
- Then, in a separate bowl, mix up the crumble ingredients. Pour the crumble over the apple mixture and smooth it out so it’s nice and even all the way across.
- Dot the top with little butter squares and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 minutes or until the crisp is fragrant, brown on top and slightly crisped.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
