Ingredients
Scale
- 1 – 2 large baking potatoes, shredded (peeled if desired)
- 1 – 2 Tablespoons melted grass-fed butter (or avocado oil)
- Avocado oil spray, salt & pepper
Instructions
- Using a large box grater or food processor, shred your potatoes using the larger holes.
- Put the shredded potatoes in a bowl, toss with melted butter, then salt & pepper them.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 F. Pour off any liquid that has collected in the bowl, the spray the bottom of your air fryer with avocado oil and spread a thin layer of shredded potatoes across the surface of the air fryer. Depending on how large your potatoes are and how big your air fryer is, you may need to work in batches.
- Cook at 400 F. for 8 – 15 minutes or until they are nicely crisped, checking them at 5 minutes. If they are getting too crispy on the outside but not enough on the inside, use tongs to move the crispy outside bits to the inside and the uncrispy inside bits to the outside. It’s also a good time to taste and add more salt & pepper as needed.
- When crisped to your liking, remove and enjoy!
Notes
Air fryer cooking times vary greatly, so watch your hash browns carefully on the first batch to figure out the right timing for your air fryer.
