Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped salted peanuts (optional, but they add a really nice crunch and some salt to counter the sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter and chocolate chips in the microwave and stir to mix. In a bowl, mix the melted butter mixture with the Oreo crumbs.
- Using a spatula or your fingers, press the Oreo crumb mixture into a 9×9 inch square pan. Bake in the hot oven for 10 minutes.
- Place the peanut butter in a small bowl and warm it briefly in the microwave (about 30 seconds).
- When the Oreo crust is done, spread the warm peanut butter over the crust, then top with chocolate chips and coarsely chopped peanuts. Top the whole pan with a single layer of mini marshmallows.
- Put the oven on the broiler setting and set the pan in the top rack under the broiler, but watch it carefully! Keep the pan in the oven just long enough to toast the marshmallows to a nice brown color (30 sec – 2 minutes).
- Cut into small squares to serve.
