Description
Sweet, sour, and full of fruity flavor, this easy sauce is the best option for people who think they don’t like cranberry sauce. It’s good to have around, too, just in case your turkey turns out dry!
Ingredients
- 1 20-oz. can crushed pineapple
- 12 oz. fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1/8 – 1/4 cup red wine
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- A pinch of cloves
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe mixing bowl, add the pineapple with juices along with the rest of the ingredients. Stir to mix.
- Microwave on high for 7 minutes. Stir. Microwave an additional 5 – 10 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.
- Let cool before serving. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Notes
Adding a bit of orange zest to this sauce adds another dimension of fruity goodness
